THE CREATURE FROM THE HUMBIRD LAGOON - LAKE EMERSON

Whilst attending the Great Lakes Paranormal Convention (September 12-14, 2025) we had the pleasure meeting with author Chad Lewis, where we discovered that our local area has its own Lake Monster legend. This prompted us to investigate further to uncover more information.

After learning about this legend and discussing it at the bar, a local woman shared a story from her experience swimming in the lake during the 1980s. She recounted that she would swim early in the morning, venturing out until the water reached her neck. While swimming parallel to the beach, her arm brushed against something large. In a panic, fearing it was a dead body, she quickly returned to shore and informed a family member who was a sheriff at the time. He suggested it was likely a dead deer, but nothing was ever found. Could it have been the beast of Lake Emerson? The mystery remains unsolved to this day.
