POLICIES & HOUSE RULES

GHOST HUNT RULES

As a participant in our ghost hunting, and / or, hotel guest, upon your check-in, you are agreeing to abide by ALL our Ghost Hunt Rules and Hotel Policies / House Rules, terms and conditions, and procedures, and we reserve the right to refuse service, or to make a charge to the guest's card if any fees are assessed for damages or not complying with Ghost Hunt / Hotel Policies / House Rules.  The Management of The Humbird Hotel would greatly appreciate your co-operation in abiding the following, as we value each of our guest's safety and enjoyment. Our Ghost Hunt / Hotel Policies / House Rules may change from time to time.

  • All attendees MUST book a room in the hotel in order to participate in any ghost hunt events listed. The cost of the ghost hunt is included into the room price on the dates listed. If you book a room on our OVERNIGHT GHOST HUNT dates and do not want to participate, your reservation will be moved to a different date. These nights are reserved for Ghost Hunting. We will confirm all reservations in advance of the evening.

  • No refunds will be given to any individual who disrupts an event, cannot attend for some reason or is in a physical or mental condition not suited for Ghost Hunting. If you arrive at the event in a drunk or inebriated state, you will also not be able to attend. These are general rules and guidelines that every haunted property maintains in order for all attendees to have the safest experience. Alcohol will not be sold at our bar during the ghost hunt.

  • Please note, ghost hunting is a physical activity and can be risky depending on the person. You must be in a physical condition to climb stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods, and be able to be silent. We ask that anyone experiencing heart conditions or other serious medical limitations, pregnant women in their last trimester, and children under the age of 12, do not attend.

  • Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • All attendees will be required to sign liability waivers and we reserve the right to eject anyone causing a disruption to the event. If at any point in the evening you are deemed to be in a condition that is not safe to hunt, you will be asked to leave.

  • A staff member will be on site for fire and insurance regulations, they will provide your team with a history of the hotel before starting your investigation. Staff members will have to be present in the bar and basement areas for insurance regulations and this will be capped at a 12am finish time.

  • Any attendees who have Ghost Hunting equipment many bring in their own to use and recordings/photography is encouraged.

  • Be respectful to the property, its contents, our staff, and the spirits. No provoking spirits or being disrespectful. Our permanent residents at The Humbird were once human beings too.

  • Respect posted property, ask permission, and do not trespass areas that are not designated within the ghost hunt.

  • No faking! (i.e. making noises or using devices to fake potential paranormal evidence). You will be asked to leave immediately if we believe you or someone in your party is potentially trying to fake evidence.

  • No jump scaring! Ghost hunting is not a funfair ride! Anyone who tries to scare others on purpose will be asked to leave.

  • No Ouija boards! No smoking, saging, smudging, incense or candle burning inside the property.

  • No attempts to pass spirits! They are here because they want to be here. We have no right to pass them on without their permission!

  • You may leave the group at any time to use the bathroom, get fresh air, or if you feel uncomfortable at any time. If you need to leave the group, please tell your group so that they know where you are.

  • Before you leave the property, please thank the spirits and firmly set your boundaries by telling them that they CAN NOT come home with you.
