OVERNIGHT GHOST HUNT

Join us as we host our first OVERNIGHT GHOST HUNTS of THE HUMBIRD Hotel Bar & Grill! Owners Matt and Elizabeth (Team H Adventures) have spent years ghost hunting some of the most notorious paranormal locations in the country and are excited to put THE HUMBIRD on the map! The evening will include the following, with breaks in between to use restrooms and recoup: *3-6pm - Check in to your hotel room. *6pm - Bar & Grill closes to the general public. *7-8pm – Meet and Greet with complimentary food and drink. An introduction to the history of THE HUMBIRD and stories from our paranormal team regarding their experiences in the property and throughout the years in places like the Lizzie Borden House, The Conjuring House, The Sallie House, Trans-Alleghany Asylum and more! *8-9pm – A tour of the property led by longtime employee and friend of The HUMBIRD Hotel Bar & Grill, Sue Zecherle! She will share her many paranormal experiences while guiding you through the different levels of the property. Followed by a hands-on introduction to ghost hunting equipment, best practices and techniques. *9-11pm – THE HUNT! You will be split into groups to hunt four different locations in THE HUMBIRD: 1) North Wing Suites, 2) South Wing Rooms, 3) The Bar, 4) The Basement. 30 minutes in each location. *11pm – Midnight – FREE HUNT! You will have access to all hotel rooms, the bar and the basement during this time. *12am-on - You may continue to ghost hunt or retire to your room for the evening, whichever you prefer! *Continental Breakfast will be served in our Concession Room in the morning. All attendees MUST book a room in the hotel in order to participate. The cost of the ghost hunt is included into the room price on the dates listed. If you book a room on our OVERNIGHT GHOST HUNT dates and do not want to participate, your reservation will be moved to a different date. These nights are reserved for Ghost Hunting. We will confirm all reservations in advance of the evening. Please note, ghost hunting is a physical activity and can be risky depending on the person. You must be in a physical condition to climb stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods, and be able to be silent. We ask that anyone experiencing heart conditions or other serious medical limitations, pregnant women in their last trimester, and children under the age of 12, do not attend. Children ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All attendees will be required to sign liability waivers and we reserve the right to eject anyone causing a disruption to the event. If at any point in the evening you are deemed to be in a condition that is not safe to hunt, you will be asked to leave. No refunds will be given to any individual who disrupts the event, cannot attend for some reason or is in a physical or mental condition not suited for Ghost Hunting. If you arrive at the event in a drunk or inebriated state, you will also not be able to attend. These are general rules and guidelines that every haunted property maintains in order for all attendees to have the safest experience. Alcohol will not be sold at our bar during the ghost hunt. Any attendees who have Ghost Hunting equipment many bring in their own to use and recordings/photography is encouraged. No Ouija Boards! No smoking, saging, smudging, incense or candle burning inside the property. No attempts to pass spirits! All reservations must be purchased in advance. More about the music: Blaine Howard hails from Fairchild, Wisconsin and plays a blend of acoustic Americana, pop, and classic rock. He's played all across the upper Midwest and beyond, having performed for over two decades in bands, duos, and as a solo artist. He's played hundreds of shows across a dozen states, in bars, theaters, living rooms, coffeehouses, churches, and on festival stages. He's shared the stage with Grammy winners Nickel Creek, country artist EllaMay Kay, Americana standouts such as John Gorka and Bill Mallonee, and regional mainstays like Brian Bethke and Greg Gilbertson. Blaine's set includes award-winning originals and a wide ranging, eclectic mix of covers spanning six decades of pop, country, rock and folk. He'll share creative versions of songs by artists like Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, U2, Journey, Miranda Lambert, CCR, Indigo Girls, Tom Petty, and Chris Stapleton. Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating adventure like no other? Picture this: a historic, haunted property that has witnessed over a century of stories, mysteries, and whispers in its walls. Now, imagine immersing yourself in a roleplaying game in this enchanting setting. The blend of history, mystery, and the thrill of gameplay creates an experience that's unparalleled in its ability to captivate and excite the soul. The Game & System: Call of Cthulhu 7e: Call of Cthulhu is a horror fiction role-playing game based on the works of H. P. Lovecraft's story of the same name and the associated Cthulhu Mythos. In Call of Cthulhu, you take on the role of everyday people who become investigators of the unknown, whether they are prepared or not. The mysterious places, people, and situations you encounter are often not what they seem, you and your friends are the only thing standing in the way of ancient and unimaginable beings from beyond the stars; monsters made manifest from outside of time; and mortal cultists who worship both, their minds twisted by forbidden knowledge. Call of Cthulhu uses Chaosium’s Basic Roleplaying: Universal Game Engine, a skill-based system with a focus on character development and simple mechanics. Basic Roleplaying uses a roll-low percentile (D100) system to determine success and failure: a Stealth skill of 50 means you have a 50% chance of success. This makes it very simple to understand your likelihood of succeeding at any given task, regardless of your experience with roleplaying games. In the game, you must work together to solve mysteries, avoid grisly death, and foil the plans of Mythos beings using the resources and contacts your investigator has access to. Sometimes luck is on your side, but, in the end, it’s your choices that determine your fate.​ Whether you are a novice or seasoned gamer, or if you have not played the game system before, you are welcome to join in the fun, the ruleset will be explained prior, and during playing.​​ What to expect: ​*4 hours of immersive game time. *Over 18's can only take part due to the horror/adult content of the games. *Complimentary snacks and soda will be available during breaks. *Dice, pencils and notepaper will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own. *We actively encourage dressing in the time period of the scenario setting, with a chance to win the Best Costume Award. Your Keeper/Games Master: Humbird co-owner, Matt Hawkes, is an avid roleplaying and board game geek. Before moving to the U.S., he owned and operated an online gaming store as well as hosting twice weekly gaming events in his local area in the U.K. for many years. Collectively, he has playtest Call of Cthulhu scenarios for Chaosium and help game test Dreamland RPG by Jason Bradley Thompson. Hosted Lovecraftian games at the bi-yearly NecronomiCon in Providence, RI, where he has also sat on panels with Legends of Tabletop, gaming writers, and designers to discuss various subjects within the gaming community. The former tenants, the Macario family, were involved in a tragedy and the owner wishes to understand the mysterious happenings at the house and set matters straight. Mr. Knott has been unable to rent the house out since the tragedy and hopes that you can clear things up and restore its good name.

It's 1935 and the luxury train the European Belle is traveling across the countryside for three weeks with an electric mix of people from all over the world. There's only one problem though - the body in the sleeping car! Whodunnit? That's up to you to figure out! Join us as we host our next Overnight Murder Mystery Dinner Party! The evening will include the following: *3-6pm - Check in to your hotel room. *5pm - Bar & Grill closes to the general public. *6pm – Cocktail Hour. Meet your fellow travelers. Each one will receive secret traits that could help or hinder the investigation. *7pm – Appetizers are served and the investigation starts. *8pm - The Main Course is served and the first set of clues are revealed. *9pm - Dessert is served and more clues are revealed. *10pm - Coffee, After Dinner Drinks, accusations and the Finale! *Continental Breakfast will be served in our Concession Room in the morning. Prizes will be given for Best Costume, Best Acting and Best Detective! So come dressed in vintage glamour, get into your character and be top sleuth! This event is limited to 12 people. Once 12 people are booked in the hotel, any rooms still available will be blocked out. As the date for the event draws near, we will email all attendees their character information, so you can dress & prepare accordingly. We will also inquire about any food allergies to insure all those in attendance can enjoy the meal without concerns. We are able to create alternate endings to the story, so if the event sells out, we can host it again without any spoilers! The price to attend the event is incorporated into the cost of the rooms on the date in our booking system. No additional fees apply with the exception of any bar drinks.
